LifeLink adds Wilderness First Aid Course

Adding to the large repertoire of health and safety training programs that Centre Lifelink EMS makes available to the public, a Wilderness First Aid 16 hour certification course has been scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 13th & 14th, 2008 from 8am to 5pm. This course, taught through the American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) yields a 3 year specialized certification card and was labled as "fun and challenging" by the pilot class that was held earlier this summer.

Taught by three of LifeLink's finest ASHI Instructors, all of who are also Wilderness EMT's and members of CREST, LifeLink's own Search and Rescue Team, the course caters to not only the outdoor enthusiast, but also trail guides, trip leaders, search and rescue personnel, Boy and Girl Scouts, and Venturers. This course also meets the BSA Wilderness First Aid requirements for Philmont crews.

Cost is $75.00, which includes the textbook and all materials. The course requires some lifting and includes an outdoor exercise. Pre-registration is required and class size is limited. Please contact EMS Education Coordinator Tracy Reagan at 814-237-8163 to register. We also can modify this course for your group or club.
