And indeed, Centre LifeLink is here to meet all of your emergency medical needs, and more. We are committed to being a partner with the communities we serve. The Centre LifeLink Health and Safety Training Center is committed to meeting the needs of individuals, churches, organizations and businesses throughout Centre County. As your partner in training, we offer experienced and certified trainers to meet the health and safety needs of all in our community.
TRAINING TOPICS:
American Heart Association Health Care Provider ADULT CPR FOR THE PROFESSIONAL RESCUER: This course teaches the basic techniques of adult CPR and the use of an AED. Participants also learn to give first aid for choking in the responsive victim. The course teaches how to recognize the signs of four major emergencies: heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest and foreign body/airway obstruction (FBAO) Cost: $55.00 and $45.00 for Renewal. This full provider course is held the 2nd Tuesday of every month. The Renewal class is held the 3rd Tuesday of every month. We also can do this course for your workplace or office by request. Offsite fees will apply.
American Heart Association Friends and Family Infant CPR: Presents information on the Pediatric Chain of Survival, signs of choking in infants, prevention of the most common fatal pediatric injuries and reduction in the risk of sudden infant death syndrome. This course is highly recommended for new or expecting parents and other family members and caregivers of infants. Cost: $10.00. This course is held the 3rd Wednesday of every month.
BASIC ADULT FIRST AID: This American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) course teaches rescuers to effectively recognize and treat adult emergencies in the critical first minutes until emergency EMS personnel arrive. Each student receives a small personal first aid kit with this course. Cost: $50.00. This course is held the 1st Wednesday of every month.
CPR and AED for the Community & Workplace: Also part of the ASHI curriculum, this course is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to give basic life support care in the community or workplace. Available in "Adult" and "Pediatric" modules. Cost: $30.00 (Includes CPR mask and book). The "Adult" course is held the 1st Tuesday of every month. The "Pediatric" version of this course is held as needed or scheduled.
CPR and First Aid Combo Program: Both from the ASHI curriculum, this provides a discount for groups or individuals wishing to take both courses together. This is either a full day or dual eveining course to cover both programs.
Cost: $60.00
EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN: The course will provide basic training in all aspects of emergency medical care which an Emergency Medical Technician is permitted to provide. Test and certification provided through the PA Department of Health (PA State certified). Cost: $175.00
BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS: The Bloodborne Pathogens and Infectious Disease program is designed to educate participants on the many types of bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases to which they may be exposed. Cost: $25
PET FIRST AID: Also part of the ASHI curriculum, this course teaches pet owners and handlers basic skills to care for a pet during an illness or injury that can reduce pain and suffering, but also dramatically shorten recovery and rehabilitation time. CHILD AND BABYSITTING SAFETY (CABS): As part of the ASHI training program, this is one of our most sought after courses for youth. This class will teach valuable life and care skills to the students who may be siblings looking after younger family members, part of church daycares or seeking their first babysitting job. In addition to the safety and caring component of the program, students receive an ASHI CPR for Adult/Child/Infant with AED card. This course is done normally on a quarterly or as requested basis. WILDERNESS FIRST AID: An excellent and fairly intense course taught through ASHI that provides training for the student to care for patients in austere environments with the challenges of the outdoors, climate, gera improvisation and whole set of circumstances that do not apply "in the street". This is a 2 day, 16-Hour Program that is taught by specially trained wilderness medical personnel from LifeLink's search and rescue team. Sure to be enjoyed by all paticipants, this course is scheduled bi-annually or by request and comes with A 3 YEAR CERTIFICATION CARD. Cost: $75
